Children arriving at
school prior to 8:30am are expected to access the Before and After School
Hours facility operated by Hall-Thorpe Sports. If this is not available, children are
expected to wait under A Block adjacent to the administration block. Staff provide supervision in the Sports Centre from 8:30am onwards.
After an 8:50am preparation
bell, lessons commence at 9:00 am and conclude at 3:00pm. A dedicated Student Absence
line has been set-up to allow parents to notify the school if their child is
going to be absent, late, or picked up early.
At Minden, every day counts and parents must provide a valid reason for absence, especially in cases of extended or emergency absenteeism. The school's same-day messaging system also alerts parents / carers to when children are not at school so explanations can be provided.
Children are not permitted to leave
the school grounds during school hours without the permission of the Principal.
Parents wishing to collect a child prior to 3:00pm must call at the office to
sign the child out.
Late to
school
For safety, any child arriving at
school after 9:00am must be accompanied by an adult and report to the office
for a Late Slip. The Late Slip must be handed to the classroom teacher.

Our days have been purposely designed to accommodate more breaks without losing valuable learning time.
This supports research
regarding the developmental needs of primary school aged children.
