Students at Minden State School are taught German as a second language from Year 5 onwards.
Minden has a long history of German settlement with descendants of pioneering families living in the area today. Both the Department of Education and the National Curriculum for Languages recognise the importance of providing opportunities for Australian children to learn a second language and take advantage of the exciting possibilities this curriculum offers. Lessons are conducted in a face-to-face format with an experienced German language teacher.
